The minority students of music department in different universities of Xinjiang Province come from different regions, and they have different cultural backgrounds and different singing characteristics. Based on the field investigations to vocal music teaching for minorities in Xinjiang Normal University, Xinjiang Institute of the Arts, Kashi College, Ili Teachers College, combining with the documents, this paper gives an analysis of current vocal music teaching for minorities in Xinjiang Universities, and put forward some new points of view.The paper includes the following five parts:The first part briefly introduces the outcome of the previous studies and on the basis of them, tries to propose the author's own research perspective and research methods.The second part firstly gives a brief introduction of the universities in Xinjiang and then specifically analyzes the teachers and minority students in the different universities.The third part is the body part of this paper, which is a detailed analysis of courses arrangements, the content of courses, teaching methods, the texts in use, the attitude towards vocal music teaching and many other issues in different institutionsThe fourth part proposed some strategies and solutions to the existing prob -lems in the current vocal music teaching for minoritis in Xinjiang Universities.The last part is the conclusion of the paper.
