| The washback of language testing is a new field of study in applied linguistics. Though many linguists'and educators'recognition of the existence of washback effects goes back at least four decades, it is not until recently that researchers and educators begin to pay much attention to the substantial and in-depth washback research. The author proposes a model of dynamic interaction between foreign language planning, language teaching and testing. The thesis mainly focuses on the washback of listening test, from the perspective of NMET reform in Zhejiang Province. A questionnaire survey, individual reviews and classroom observations are used as research method in this study. The target samples are 197 senior 1 students, 190 senior 2 students and 37 senior English teachers from four senior middle schools in Hangzhou. In order to supplement the data, the author also sends out questionnaires to 54 university students who took the listening test of NMET and 126 university students who didn't take the listening test of NMET in Hangzhou Normal University. The data are obtained from the statistical analysis of questionnaires, individual interviews and classroom observation. The author believes that the mechanism of NMET reform is problematic and suggests that any reform should not be arbitrary. The reform of NMET should be based on a large scale of researches and investigation on present senior English teaching situations. Finally, the author puts forward the model of dynamic interaction between foreign language planning, foreign language teaching and planning, which will be positive to promote students'comprehensive development of English knowledge and ability. |
