On The Differences Of The Adverbial-verb Phrase Between The Artistic Style And The Scientific Style

From the corpus of the 400,000 word materials, ,the paper tags and statistics adverbial-verb phrase in artistic style and scientific style,then we investigate the adverbial-verb difference from aspects of grammatical sense,Finally,we compare the rhetoric methods in adverbial modifier between two styles.By analyzing the difference on adverbial-verb phrase in two of styles,this paper draws the following conclusions:When comparing the format, the statistics result turns out that concrete verb, state adjective and state adjective are usually serve as the central verb of the headword with a "adverb + noun" structure in the artistic style of writing while it is abstract verb, character adjective withnot noun which mostly serve as the central verb in scientific style of writing. There are adverb postposed and adverb preposed in the artistic style of writing but not in scientific style of writing. Comparing with scientific style of writing, "地"symbol, headword decorated by phrases are inclined to be found in artistic style of writing. In the artistic style of writing, the length of multiple adverds is shorter than in scientific style of writing and the interlaced adverbs and the paratactic adverbs are less but progrssive adverbs are more. The order are changeable for multiple adverds in artistic style of writing but not in scientific style of writing.In grammatical sense, it is mostly repetitive, contradictory and descriptive relation between adverbial adjunct and headword in the artistic style of writing, while restrict relation in the scientific style; there is extraordinary semantic collocation in the artistic style of writing, but common collocation in the scientific style of writing; compared with the scientific style of writing, the artistic style of writing is inclined to choose adverbial phrase with fewer "item" to express the information.From the point of rhetoric distribution, a variety of rhetoric methods could be found in artistic style, especially metaphor and portray, while only occasional use of metaphor would be found in scientific style.
