The Gestalt Phenomenon In Literature Acception

Gestalt theory has been widely used in various fields since it was established . There, the estheticians, represented by Arnheim , applied this theory to the study of aesthetics in large-scale, to create a complete aesthetic theory of Gestalt. However, the contribution to the research of the Gestalt theory in the arts is mainly to the field of visual perception, but not very good to the Literary reception. In fact, the idea of gestalt theory , like the integrity ,the isomorphism and the relationship between figure and ground , is also widely accepted in the Literary reception. Therefore, understanding the formative mechanism of the gestalt is good for solving the problem of how the readers get the literary significance and the images.As a symbol, language has some characters as the convention, indirection and faintness. The literature as a form of language, is inevitably restricted by these features, which results in "the blanks" and " unfixed points " in the article ,and this leads to a certain degree of deviation when the readers catch on the article. Meanwhile,as the reader's horizon changes, the deviation expands . In fact,the process forming of an image or some kind of significance when readers read the article ,is the process forming of a gestalt .The readers will form of different gestalts in accordance with their different experiences and understandings, which results in the phenomenon of different opinion on the Literary reception.In this paper, I will explain the problem of gestalt formation in the literature acception from three aspects of Gestalt theory such as the integrity ,the isomorphism and the relationship between figure and ground ,and analyse the cause of the classics' deconstruction and reconstruction with the gestalt's destruction .From this, we can see that the implication of the classics will not be exhausted, and thus reflects the eternal beauty of literature. In this paper, I have applied the reception theory and the basic principles of Gestalt psychology, by the view of psychology to explain the activities of readers' the literature acception, focusing on their crossover study ,to provide a new perspective.
