He won a wide favor in China, in Asia, or even in the world for his frankness and loyalism and bravery. It can be said to some extent that he represents the image of Chinese traditional culture.Japanese manga rose in Japan since the middle of the 20th century after World War II and become popular worldwide in a few decades. Manga in China started long after Japan and now is still in the period of groping. But with the support of policy from the Government and the large amount of investment, it is believed that it can be developed quickly. Manga is becoming more and more important just as it is nowadays not only limited in culture but also has a great affect in society and economy. Therefore, the study of manga has a very practical significance.The Monkey King and the "Journey to the West" is loved by the people in China for a long period, so we can make it as a model to analyze the modern form of the traditional culture. And about Japanese manga, as a significant part of modern culture, we should get familiar with its development as soon as possible to support our own manga rather than refuse it arbitrarily. We realized that we haven't paid enough attention to our traditional culture which has often been developed or adapted by the foreigners. It is worthy of concern.In this article we do research on Japanese manga image from 1945 to 2005 of The Monkey King in the longitudinal comparative analysis, as well as Japanese manga with the image of The Monkey King in China, the United States and other countries and regions in the cartoon image of The Monkey King horizontal comparative analysis.Through these analyses, we can see that foreigners increasingly on our traditional culture and interested in their adaptation, it is understandable that this adaptation of the original, but this adaptation will be adapted to carry an exotic deep cultural structures affected, it is bound to intentionally or unintentionally misinterpreted and distorted by our own culture. Therefore, such adaptation, for foreigners in the Chinese cultural heritage deep shown by the lack of respect for and understanding of superficial phenomenon, we do not laugh over. So in this article, we suggest to pay more attention to the distortion and uglification of The Monkey King in Japanese manga. We should protect our traditional culture from the distortion. We should make our traditional culture to be more respected by the foreigners. We would see what we can do and what we can't after we analyze the image of The Monkey King in Japanese manga. We would know what we ourselves should do immediately without waiting for others.
