Langston Hughes(1902-1967)is generally regarded as the most outstanding black poet among those springing up during the Black Renaissance, and one of the greatest writers in the 20th centuries America. This dissertation will talk about the narrative affirmance of the negro's cultural identity in the Langston Hughes' poems. The dissertation is composed of the following three parts. That is, the introduction, main body and conclusion.Introduction: In this part, we will talk about from the four perspectives, which are the Hughes' biographical summary and his writing, summarizing of the Langston Hughes' domestic research, research method we used, and the innovation. We reveal the background of the Harlem Renaissance, and the Hughes' status in the 20th centuries of American literature. Summarizing of the Langston Hughes' domestic research is divided into from parts which are the Hughes in the development of the world literature,Hughes' poetics, Hughes' art of poem and the motif and image in the Hughes' poems.The main body consists of 4 chapters: The first chapter, deconstructing the white's black cultural identity narrative. Hughes' poems resisted the white's spotting the black image, deconstructed the Uncle Tom image in the white narrative. The essence of the white judgment the black is the result of the white depriving the black's discourse rights. Hughes tried his best to deconstruct the demonized black in the white writing. He dedicated to express the black's resistant, reconstruct the cultural root to result the black's endurance and collapse the west Christianity's preach to suppress the black.The second section Langston Hughes remodeling the black's cultural identity, Hughes' remodeling is based on ascending to the black's far reaching historical culture. Hughes put his remodeling the black cultural identity in the worldwide perspectives. jointing the Whitman's democratic narrative in the American poems writing. Those made the Hughes' writing possess the general meaning of the Americanism and humanity.Chapter Three mainly about the black folk music which is the expression of the black culture has affected the Hughes' poems, the music played an special role in bilateral construct the black's identity .The last chapter discussed Hughes is advocate the blackness in order to getting rid of the American quality. This is difference from the Black Cultural movement in the 1960s and 1970s, which existed the orientation to getting rid of American quality.Conclusion: Discussing the status of Hughes in American literature history. Hughes's artistic innovation, which came from the black folk music has influenced the black poem profoundly. Hughes' writing enriches the American black literature.
