The so-called "morals" refers to the principles and rules that should be observed when dealing with the relationships between people as well as that between people and society. The Chinese have been under the restrictions of the traditional morals over thousands years, and are under the impact of the western ideas in a condition of oppression and searching of a break. The films of Ang Lee have well captured this contraction.Ang Lee has established an "imaginary world" coexisting in the eastern and western values through films, demonstrating the moral dilemma and the solutions, which is the clue throughout his films. Through the textual-analysis of 10 films directed by Ang Lee, the paper firstly explores the different moral dilemmas faced by all kinds of people in their different life stages, trying to analyze the motifs of the ethical conflict of his films. And then it further analyses the ethical relieves explored and imaged by Ang Lee: Lee has created a harmonious and peaceful solution for these kinds of dilemma in his eastern softness and way of thinking, establishing his unique "mirror" language. Through the cultural identity of Ang Lee, it analyses the success experiences recognized by the east and west. Ang lee stuck firmly the national core of its own culture, and in terms of the artistic as well as ideological values. Ang Lee infuse the eastern and western cultural backgrounds in his worldly insight and eastern wisdom ,to seek a perfect combination of all these elements and created a balance. And it's of great values to apply these experiences to the mainland film development of China.
