The Study Of Yuan Haowen's Works During The Retreat Period

Yuan Haowen (1190——1257), also named Yuzhi or Yishan , was a native of Xin country in Shanxi province. Early Yuan Dynasty was at the end of the great poet, literary theorist and poetry critic, is also an excellent Ci-poet. Yuan Haowen' s works represent the highest achievements in Ci between Jin and Yuan Dynasties , and his Ci has not only of the uninhibited and graceful, but also as a melting furnace, is the Su, Xin after another all. Since the 20th century, Ci-poetry scholars have made relatively objective studies and evaluations of Yuan Haowen Ci-poetry from the perspectives of ideological contents, artistic style, Ci- poetics and the historical position, but they did not conduct specific research and exposition on Yuan Haowen' s Ci during his retreat period . However, Yuan Haowen literature as the overall speaking, during this period of literary art is the typical characteristics. This paper during the Yuan Haowen retreat' s different types of Ci to study and make comments, including its Ci works about love, Ci about hill and water, Ci about old interesting, Ci about praising things, Ci about friends and so on. In order to sum up Yuan Haowen' s works are unique during his retreat.In this paper, according to Yuan Haowen' s life ,we divided it into two retreat periods, one is his contradictory period, the other is his old age period . With his works during his different retreat period , to analyze and research the change of his style during different periods. During the first period, his style translated into uninhibited style with a sense of desolation in his works; During the second period, it became mildly implication uninhibited. We can appreciate and study his Ci works,. to sum up his special style in different periods. So we can understand Yuan Haowen' s creation in his retreat environment.During this period, Yuan Haowen' s works for a wide range, performance of his patriotic aspirations for king, make contributions to the ambitious vision, helpless of his talent, contradictory concept about positive and negative , the memory of motherland and his close friends, the longing for the new life of the feelings and advocating freedom. It has demonstrated Jin Dynasty' s surviving adherent Ci-writer that has contradictions mentality. As master of Ci-poetry of Jin and Yuan Dynasties, Yuan Haowen plays a decisive and important role in the communication and exchange among the Ci-poetry of Song, Jin and Yuan Dynasties and therefore occupies an indispensable place in the history of Ci-poetry. When he discusses Ci-poetry, Yuan Haowen praises Su Shi and Xin Qiji, emphasizes emotions and feelings, ennobles nature, lays great importance on implicitness and subtlety and his Ci-poetry tends to express his ideas and emotions in a natural way and he succeeds in suiting both refined and popular tastes, stricken in the vicissitudes of life experiences and ideas of Confucianism and Taoism both under the influence, we created in this period Yuan Haowen change his style for a more scientific and more reasonable research. Through research his works in this specific period, we can catch these works' characteristics.Finally, Yuan Haowen chose retreat life, because he accepted the influence of stricken in the vicissitudes of life experience and two contradictory ideas of Confucianism and Taoism, and he wrote a large number of works. Therefore, we focused on his style' s changes in this period, which can research his Ci works more scientific and more reasonable. We can learn the art characteristics of his works in this period. At the same time, this paper will seek for the character of Yuan Haowen' s works and present the creation of the causes of the creative experience of his works unique by the historical background where he lived , the impact suffered from his family environment , the impact to its creation suffered from Taoism .To search for the causes of Yuan Haowen Ci' s characteristics and his art creation.
