Study On "Ji" In Liuyang Dialect And Its Relevant Structures

As the object of this study,the word ji in Liuyang dialect had been classified by its grammar component in word grammar and sentence grammar.Through investigations and analyses,as well as the comparison with zai(in Liuyang dialect), and de,er(in mandarin),we can find that the affix ji's word building power is not very strong,but it has a very rich grammar function,such as supplement syllable function, and also the function of marking the part of speech,changing meanings,and adding additional meanings.Structural auxiliary ji just like the de₁,de₂ in mandarin,it can attach to the noun,the adverb,the adjective,the quantity phrase,etc.,not changing those words and phrases' grammar character and basic meaning,but can expressing their different grammar meanings;and has a rich function of semantic and pragmatic, like expressing love,recommendations or orders,and even presenting exactly the opposite meanings.Tone auxiliary ji not only have the function of emerging state but also the function of bringing up an idea and halt.We will compare the basic form in Liuyang dialect and the similar form in mandarin as well as Liuyang dialect to obtain their different syntax and semantic function when they are expressing quantities, levers,etc.
