The New Exploration Of The Grounding For Oil Painting

Making the colorful grounding for paintings from about Gothic times. In traditional oil paintings, the primary function of grouding is to reduce the greasiness of oily groundings, which is better for the drying of color. All of these can help artists to control the tone of paintings.In modern oil paintings, in order to get the innovation and new impression, the exertion of grounding seems more various and wider than before, which is not only for control ing the paint for drawing , but also for breaking up the skills of traditonal oil painting.On the study and research of oil painting, I always search for and sum up the conclusions without stop under the guidance of my mentor. Commonly, the exertion of western paintings is just for the foundation of grounding, which cannot be appeared partly or wholly. From my research , I tried my best to break up the traditional limitation, making the grounding become the primary factor to decide the whole impression of oil paintings, which brings the new innovations to the oil paintings' skills and ideas.Along the three years' researh on making and exerting of grounding, I experienced four different stages, which are the making and exerting of single grounding, the making and exerting of multiple grounding, the making and exerting of colorful grounding, the making and exerting of texture grounding. From the four different stages, I absorbed the archaizing effection of traditional Chinese paintings and the exertion of grounding in foreign paintings, which help me to get the exploring success.The grounding in different materials has different impression. These different appearances give my paintings different inspiration, and also bring us a new method to paint. About these, from my point of view, the value of this painting method is worth studying. The making and exerting of grounding is not only for us to study presently, but also to be complemental and be perfect in the future.
