There are many kinds of characters in the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasty, one of which, the chamberlain, is studied in this thesis.Less than 20 characteristic chamberlains from many novels of the two dynasties are analyzed to the full. On the other hand, the author studies some original chamberlains from the noble families in the history to help analyze the ones in the novels.The layout of the study of the chamberlains falls into 7 respects: their sources, thought, characters, management, treatment, their relationship with masters and their way out.The chamberlains from the novels of Ming and Qing Dynasty are also compared with top modern managers in big family enterprises, so that some suggestions are given to the top managers and the bosses of family firms about how to run the enterprises well.
