Lv Bicheng was not only a very famous pioneer of independent female sex, but also an excellent writer of Chinese Ci in achievement; she was called"the first Modern Dynasty woman writer of Chinese Ci"by Qian Zhonglian. Under the influence of the women emancipation, she advocated female education by newspaper actively, and put forward a lot of systematic and profound position. Furthermore, she earnestly practiced what she advocated. For example, she took part in founding the first female school supported by government and became the first woman who charged school. With many frustrated and abundant experiences, Lv Bicheng brought the enthusiasm for career and patriotism to her Ci. Ebb and flow in her life, lapse of time, loneliness and drifting were embodied in her Ci. There were abundant contents in Lv Bicheng's Ci, which was the unhappy consciousness of life, the misfortune of her family and the motherland. Her Ci described human and scenery. Her Ci was delicate and lyrical. The themes and contents of her Ci were abundant and various. The styles of Lv Bicheng's Ci were diverse and the glamour was grotesque. She developed the superiority of mild and minute, as well as poured her won sincere feelings, she takes up the very important position in Wan Qing——modern world of Chinese Ci.Lv Biceng embodied new women's characters in her social life as well as in her literary creation. Appraising her ideas and Ci can help us know better the almost forgotten feminist, understand the profound meaning of her Ci, grasps her rich typical artistic style, and acquaint her valuation in the history of modern literature. The body of this paper consists of three chapters. The first part properly generalizes and describes the development of her thoughts, mainly social activities and her way of life, combining the age background of the late Qing and the early Min and her family and life story. The second categorizes Lv Bicheng's Ci and assesses in detail features and thoughts of her Ci. The third specifically analyzes the outstanding artistic achievement and the theory of Ci from the words of her Ci, poems and essays. The last part evaluates simply the status and influence of her Ci and her thoughts in Chinese history.
