Research On The Existence Manner And Value Of Folk Culture (Intangible Culture Heritage) In The Architectural Space

Xi'an, one of the historical and cultural cities, had a brilliant ancient civilization, history and culture and has many historic sites. And also, it has a lot of traditional dwellings which have distinctive characteristics. These traditional dwellings, including its layout, architectural form, courtyard constitution and so on, are on behalf of folk culture in ancient city of Xi'an. In a word, it is a continuation and accumulation of traditional culture.This paper discussed the relationship between intangible cultural heritage in the folk culture and architectural space. The research object of this article is intangible cultural heritage and traditional dwellings in ancient city of Xi'an. This paper based on the theory of intangible cultural heritage and put books about culture and residential construction as reference. Firstly, the author surveyed the characteristics, types and the protective status quo of traditional dwellings in the ancient city of Xi'an. Secondly, the paper analyzed intangible cultural heritage and the interdependence of traditional dwellings and intangible cultural heritage. Thus the paper indicates the existence manner and value of the intangible cultural heritage in traditional dwellings, And then the text states protective theory and measure of the traditional dwellings through the investigation to the NO.30 KaiTong lane in Xi'an city. The paper claimed that we should protect not only the traditional dwellings but also intangible cultural heritage in the protective process in order to achieve the aim, which we could protect both Material and intangible cultural heritage.This paper made effort to discover the historical and cultural value and historic information contained in the traditional culture of the dwellings in ancient city of Xi'an to achieve coexistence and development of material and intangible cultural heritage on the basis of compiling information.
