Alexander Zhurbin is one of the most important Russian composers of his generation.He composes in a wide range of forms and styles:from symphonies to pop music,from chamber music to new wave,from operas and ballets to movie scores and music for the theater.During the long list of his works,bayan music plays an very important role,which is almost dedicated to Friedrich Lips.As a bayan player,â… appreciate Alexander'works because of their vivid characteristics and multiplex techniques.This thesis takes SONATA NO.2 composed in 1981 as study object.Musicological method was used in this paper for analysis. Chapter 1 represents an introduction to some information of the composer and his compositions so that readers can form a primary understanding to him.Chapter 2 mainly analyzes in an all-round way the respective features of musical components, their special musical structures,melody model and nature free of the traditional methods and the juncture among different components.Distinct angles and emphasis are adopted in accordance with their respective styles.Chapter3,consisting of 3 sections,probes into the cultural connotation of his masterpieces.Section 1 introduces the social-cultural background;section 2 discusses in a deeper sense the cultural connotation of the work after a retrospection of the history of philosophy and aesthetics;section 3 further expounds the post-modernistic Collage through the comparison with traditional Collage.chapter 4 presents an analysis on some special performing techniques in view of the composers' exploitation on accordion's expressive force and summarizes those problems readily appearing in performance on basis of the author's own experience.In virtue of analyzing a musical composition,a better understanding can be formed in executants and instruct them to improve performance.Such is the original intention of this dissertation.
