This article wants to mainly discusses three questions in Xu Wei and his dramatic work on the foundation of the predecessors' study. The first question is about Xu Wei' s "crazy" . This article thought to judges whether a person is crazy or not, we must think about this person' s experience and symptoms. No matter he is an artist or a ordinary person, if the experience is beyond his psychological withstanding, then he can be"crazy", or he can become neurotic. Looked from the viewpoint of the medicine and the psychology, we could get many signs of neurosis symptoms from Xu Wei' s behaviors. The people always have defferent explanations about the reason why Xu Wei killed his wife. Some thought Xu Wei doubted his wife was not loyal, therefore, he killed his wife; Some people thought Xu Wei injured his wife accidentally in neurosis situation; Some people thought it was theretributive justice ......All explanations have their own reasons. As forwhether Xu Wei' s wife Zhang commited fornication, there are only some fables. Although the age of some fables is very clear to the age which Xu Wei lived in, fables are not historical records, so they have certain reference value, but cannot be taken as the proof actually. I think that Xu Wei was often not at home and the relationship between Xu Wei and his wife was broken. He waried of his young and beautiful wife .therefore such action could be sensitive paranoia of Xu Wei during the ill time of the illusion. although that Xu Wei believed that his wife had raped, but I did not believe a mental patient' s words at all.The second question is about the ownership of "Songs Instead of Howling" . This article begins the question with the signature "The Placid Scholar in Hulin" . Xu Wei lived in Hangzhou, and was familiar with Hangzhou's life."Placid" exactly concerned Xu Wei' s thought concerns. "Songs Instead of Howling" is just a mirror, which is the portrayal of Xu Wei' s life experience. The title of "Songs Instead of Howling" conforms to Xu Wei' s dramatic opinion, and has many extremely similar characters with "the Four tones of classical Chinese Apes" . No writer in latter Ming dynasty can write a play which may have the same value with the plays in Yuan dynasty, except Xu Wei.The third one is the value orientation of Xu Wei' s dramatic work. This content has been discussed by the predecessors, and was briefly called "the true colors theory" . It' s mainly about the rebellion against the tradition, the taunt over Buddhism and government, as well as the respect and praise for woman. Certainly in Xu Wei's dramatic work we can also find many residents' descriptions, such as pornography and money. Finally the article discusses the incredible consciousness of Xu Wei' s dramatic work, and studies Xu Wei' s dramatic work with western incredible faction theory. In brief, Xu Wei is a cultural celebrity, who has been discussed in different opinions. There are many fables about him, but the material records are insufficient, so we still have large space to go on our study. As a beginner, this article author has strong interest to Xu Wei, so chats his shallow understanding on this three questions for sharing, and hopes all the readers and professors can make a comment or criticism on it.
