Fuzziness is one of the essential features of language and it is a universal phenomenon. Literary language is mostly characterized by fuzziness which constitutes the primary aspect of aesthetic value and function of literary works. The thesis mainly attempts to explore the fuzziness in literary works and the aesthetic representation of literary fuzziness in translation. The manifestation of fuzzy language in literary works consists in phonetics, semantics, syntax, rhetoric, imagery and style. As the reading process is a dynamic process, so is the process of literary translation. The translator is the subject and the text is the object. The process of translation is a process in which the translator fully exerts his subjective initiative to represent the literary beauty of the original text. In order to reveal the fuzzy nature of the process, the writer introduces the theory of aesthetics of reception highlighting the vacancy and indeterminacy of the text meaning and the correlation between fuzzy language and it, also focusing on appealing structure and horizon of expectation, and tries to reveal the significance and enlightenment of aesthetics of reception. As far as the aesthetic representation of literary fuzziness is concerned, from the perspective of aesthetics of translation, the writer elaborates on the artistic and aesthetic effect and value of literary fuzziness. The aesthetic differences between Chinese and English including differences in aesthetic thinking and in language manifestation are analysed, and the aesthetic schema of literary translation is also illustrated. At last how to best maintain the aesthetic value and fuzzy beauty of the original literary text remains a question. The writer attempts to propose that the solution will be based on the inter-language transformation between fuzziness and preciseness. Fuzziness and preciseness, as a dialectical unity are complementary to each other. Each plays an important role in literary translation and can transform to its opposite given certain condition. Therefore, preciseness provides specific techniques to solve fuzziness. To support this idea, many examples are given. Besides, the strategy of addition and deletion is also included in this part. Moreover, it is of great significance and necessity for the translator to bear the strategy of flexibility in mind in order to pursue the spiritual similarity. The translator should make a specific analysis when faced with concrete problems.
