On Tao,as one of the classical books in modern Chinese philosophy history,the thought of which is profound and massiness and the logical argumentation of which is rigorous.It embodies the deep concern of Mr.Jin Yuelin for the world,the society,the life,the national destiny and so on.He tries to build "neo-taoism"(新道论)to get through among the boundaries between the model of "everything being united"(万物一体)of traditional Chinese philosophy and the model of subject-object dichotomy of traditional Western philosophy.Taking "neo-taoism" as the background,Mr.Jin establishes the individual of having "the form"(ge,个)and having "the body"(ti,体)and gives "the form" of the individual to "the body".The thought of the individual of having "the form" and having "the body" of On Tao is long-neglected by the academia.How to understand On Tao and clarify the individual thought of one from the standpoint of the philosophical history and the horizon of the individual? How to give the individual though of On Tao a reasonable position in the philosophical history? It is difficult to many researchers to solve these questions.The most basic ingredients of one individual are "Stuff" and "Possible",the characteristics and the relations of which contain the development secrets of the individual thought of On Tao.In term of "Stuff always enters into and leaves off from possibilities"(能老有出入)and the realization principle of possibilities, the generation of the individual is necessary.The individual has both "the form" and "the body".Comparing the individual thought of On Tao with the individual of having "the form" and having "the non-body",it has the important theoretical and the practical significance on the individual thought.At the moment,the "individual" is still one "individual universal",which needs particular realization with the help of the order of time-space,that is to say,the localization of time-space of the individual.The individual have change,move,and the births and deaths of particulars under the horizon of time-space.The change and move of the individual should obey the principle of "the relations of universals being determinate,the unfoldment of particulars being indeterminate "(理有固然,势无必至).The stations of the change and move of the individual have determinacy and indeterminacy,and have the occasion(chi,几),the pre-ordination(shu,数),the luck(yun,运),the fate(ming,命).The individual under the horizon of time-space,is not the perfect realm of the individual.The situations(qing,情)of the individual still need to pursue the perfect natures (xing,性),the means(yong,用)of the individual still need to pursue the perfect bodies(ti,体).At last,the individual attain the perfect realm of Tai chi (tai ji,太极).The individual thought of On Tao isn't without the question.Later, Feng qi,the student of Mr.Jin,who inherit,amend and develop the individual thought of On Tao.
