In recent years, the society, university and students are very concerned about the issue of mental health. The scholars of domestic and international in the development of mental health evaluation criteria agreed that interpersonal relationship is an important indicator of the mental health assessment, and it is the one of main objective factors, and interpersonal trust is the basis of interpersonal relationships, it is an important condition that good interpersonal relationships formed. Polish sociologist Peter Shentuomu Puka, in his book Trust discussed the fact that the "no confidence, we believe that the daily lives are completely impossible, in today's contingency, uncertainty and under the conditions of globalization, the trust become the centre of a very urgent issue".Theory and practice of psychology counseling showed that interpersonal trust issue is very important, interpersonal trust impact on mental health issues of undergraduates.This study was to understand the interpersonal trust status and mental health of the general characteristics of undergraduates,and discussed relationships between interpersonal trust and mental health. Based on overviews of former researches, interviews with some undergraduates and open-ended questionnaire, used the made-self Interpersonal Trust Questionnaire and the Symptom Check-List Scale (SCL-90). A total of 1003 students of university from Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan provinces participated in this study. The results show that:1.The Interpersonal Trust Questionnaire of Undergraduate has good reliability and validity, with the psychometrics of the basic requirements.2.This study found that the interpersonal trust scores of undergraduates , were general to good level. Undergraduates were better mental health status, the overall psychological symptoms were not very serious, mental health problems existed several symptoms of paranoia, depression and interpersonal sensitivity.3.Different sex, different professional students interpersonal trust scores were very significant difference, girls interpersonal trust scored significantly higher than that of boys (t=ï¹£4.01, P<0.01), interpersonal trust scores of arts students were significantly higher than students of science and engineering(t = 4.46, P<0.01) ; classes cadres students scored significantly higher than students of non-class cadres(t=5.59, P<0.01).4.In respect of trust others, interpersonal trust grade scored the highest scores, with the increase in the grade level of trust others reduced. In respect of trust to me, the freshmen scored significantly higher than those of fourth-grade students (P<0.05), university sophomores scored significantly lower than the third-grade students of the University (P<0.05), the third-grade students scored significantly higher than those of fourth-grade students(P<0.01).5.Reside in different place students have confidence in me scoring significantly (F=3.379, P<0.05), from the urban students scored significantly higher than that of rural students (P<0.01), in respect of trust to me, from urban students and rural students scored significantly (F=3.192, P<0.05), students of urban scored significantly higher than that of rural students (P<0.05).6.In respect of trust others, students of good economic condition of the family were significantly higher than that of the poor economic situation students (P<0.05). Students of different economic situation scores in respect of trust to me were very significant differences (F=7.105,P<0.01), good economic condition of university students was significantly higher than that of the general economic situation students (P<0.01), good economic condition of university students scores were significantly higher than that of the poor economic situation students (P<0.01).7.Interpersonal trust of undergraduates were extremely significant positive correlation (P<0.01) with their mental health. The results of stepwise regression analysis show that the scores of ability trust dimensions forecast scores of mental health in two aspects of trust others and trust to me.
