ShiHuo School And The Research Of The Social Economic History Of China

The new life press issued the socioeconomic history magazine——《Shi Huo》andthe editor in chief is Tao Xi sheng. It was published semimonthly and was reputed as the most famous socioeconomic history magazine. From the December in 1934 to the july in 1937, the semimonthly Shi Huo has printed five books amounted to sixty one periods and released over three hundred and forty five papers. Besides, Shi Huo school came into being and was extensively recognized by the acaderme after the publishing of the magazine of Shi Huo.Shi Huo school definitely put forward the social history specialism combined social history and economic history; emphasized the dig of historical material and the digesting between historical material and theoretical method; advocated the diversity of the means of research and the cross-subject study; held the study of special topic, payed careful attention to people' livelihood. They layed foundation for the research of the socioeconomic history.《Shi Huo》and Shi Huo school' glory was only a flash in the pan, was the product of the times that the politics had overwhelmed the academic research, and was the inevitable result of the deviation of Tao Xi sheng' political and academic views.
