A Study Of Allusion-Words' Meaning

Allusion-words is different from the many other types of words on components, modes of structure, structure of meaning, formation of meaning, and so on. The study focused on the meaning of allusion-words, mainly from three aspects to study:(A) The static description of allusion-words' meaning. This section of the plane from the perspective of the five to analysis the meaning of the allusion-words: 1. Summarize up the semantic characteristics of the allusion-words, it has a single meaning and integration. 2. Analysis the structure of allusion-words' meaning from two aspects of the literal meaning and practical meaning, the basic meaning and the color meaning. 3. Story the relationship on the meaning of the allusion-words and the original meaning of allusion, including three aspects: synonyms, extension and anti-sense. 4. The relationship between the meaning of allusion-words and the highlights allusion's elements is discussed. Formation of allusions-words is to explain the meaning of allusion, allusion-words can achieve this purpose by prominent the key elements of allusion story. 5. The cluster of allusion-words' meaning. Two kinds of allusion-words are divided: synonymous' allusion-words and anti-sense' allusion-words.(B) The dynamic investigation of allusion-words' meaning. It is explained from three aspects. 1. Changes of the meaning of allusion-words in specific language environment is analysized.2. Discuss the different reasons of evolution on allusion-words' meaning and the general words meaning.3. Illustrate the historical evolution of the situation of allusion-words meaning. This section is from two aspects to discuss the allusion-words' meaning: historical-macro background and micro-specific language environments.(C) Understanding of the allusion-words' meaning. Allusions-words meaning is understood as so as the information is decoded. In this section focused on two points: 1. From the perspective of Cognitive Linguistics, the metaphor in allusions is discussed in terms of the formation and the role of the understanding. 2. Some general terms about understanding allusions-words, there are two: tracing the allusions source and analysis the meaning of allusion source factors. In short, this paper discusses some problems relating the meaning of allusion-words from various aspects, it reveals some characteristics of the allusion-words' meaning.
