This thesis is an attempt to provide a new perspective in interpretation of the meaning of a linguistic expression (LE) by proposing interactive approaches. The construction of the thesis is based on a hypothesis that if one is conscious then he or she can conceive of meaning of an LE. The first approach is some borrowings of mental operations from operational semantics. Besides, there are at least three new terms that constitute the unity of the interactive basis: new content of an LE; a tetrahedron, a Spiegel. The new content of an LE includes classification of it into two types: imagery LE and sequential LE. Tetrahedron refers to a geometric shape that resembles the four important factors in formation of meaning of an LE. These four sides are: 1) attentional side of a tetrahedron, 2) memorial side of a tetrahedron, 3) temporal side of a tetrahedron, and 4) spatial side of a tetrahedron. On each side, the corresponding mental operations happen as long as an individual detects an LE. Anyhow, they are not independent from each other. On the contrary, interactions among them guarantee the subjective state that is represented by a Spiegel. Spiegel resembles the stream of consciousness. Spiegel is a dynamic character of an individual's inner self. It develops as long as one is conscious. As long as one is conscious, the product of one's perceptual system will be perceived as a Spiegel stored in one's tetrahedron. A Spiegel has an essential role to play. That is, it will send back the information gathered from interactions among four sides of a tetrahedron to the perceptual system. In doing so, each side will be updated with new content of the LE. The Chapter Two is a literature review on consciousness with respect to meaning interpretation. In addition, some key terms about operational semantics have been introduced in the latter part. Introduction of the four approaches constitute the Chapter Three, which is followed by interactive activities within and among four approaches, that is, the Chapter Four.
