The study of funeral rites in Six Dynasty is always a part of quite weak in the study on thehistory of funeral rites.This situation has been improved in recent years.The academic world hasstudied funeral rites in Six Dynasty mostly from the aspect of history and archaeology,payingattention to confirming with some recordation in bumf literature,and has got a set of productions.But the study of funeral rites from the aspect of linguistics is still nearly inblankness,and it is also poor of studying funeral rites by using the underground literature—theliterature of inscriptions on stones.The materials,the literature of inscriptions on stones in Six Dynasty,are credible datums,withlarge quantities,certain age and certain space.As the contents are special,inscriptions on stoneshave saved a great deal of funeral words and has recorded a great deal of funeral rites.lt provides uswith genuine,valuable,abundant materials of literature to help studying funeral rites in SixDynasty from the aspect of linguistics.This paper discusses funeral words of inscriptions on stones in Six Dynasty.And it mainlyincludes five chapters:the study on death words of inscriptions on stones in Six Dynasty,the studyon funeral convention words of inscriptions on stones in Six Dynasty,the study on bural rite words of inscriptions on stones in Six Dynasty,the study on burial system words of inscriptions on stonesin Six Dynasty and the study on the funeral characteristic of inscriptions on stones in Six Dynasty.Chapter one discusses death words from the aspect of culture.Chapter two,chapter three andchapter four detailedly bewrites the funeral rites in Six Dynasty respectively from the aspect of funeral convention,burial rite and burial system.And the last chapter discusses the characteristic offuneral rites in Six Dynasty holisticly.This paper makes use of correlative productions such as history,archaeology,folklore.And it describes the basic status of funeral rites in Six Dynastyholisticly by funeral words from the aspect of language glossary,mainly using the correlative theoryof cultural linguistics to study the funeral rites in Six Dynasty.
