Ancient Currency Classifier Research

The classifier has the special status in Chinese glossary system. Compared to the study on certain books and dynastic history, Chinese classifier history is still not studied fully. However, because of the huge quantity and the complex system, it is impossible to conducts the study on the whole classifier history directly, but it can serves the purpose that having a view of the classifier history by obtaining from some specific category and discussing historically on classifier in this system.The thesis takes the currency which is closely linked with the human society life as the attention object, It chooses the words and does the research all bases in the linguistics observation angle of view, Through inspecting massive literature language materials from pre-Qin to Qing,the thesis has described the currency classifier which are at the same time and straightened them out according to the track of development.The thesis is built on the basis of rich language materials, divided into three parts: pre-Qin to Han Dynasties; Wei Jin Nan Bei Dynasties and Sui Tang dynasties; Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties .In every part, a inspection about the semantic,class and measurement nature have been done, and generally the characteristics and laws as well as the development trend about the currency classifier is outlined. The thesis is written with a view to a comprehensive and systematic summary of the currency classifiers and also hoping that can provide the foundational material for Chinese classifier history research.
