After the new period of reform and opening up, China has changed a lot from the economic basis to the superstructure as well as the social structure to the people's values. Changes in Social life caused changes in the language. In all elements of modern Chinese, the development of vocabulary is the most noticeable one. Vocabulary changes reflected mainly in two sides: the demise of the old terms and the formation of new words and rapidly increasing of new words are the most prominent changes in Chinese Vocabulary development.Because of the surge of new words, Chinese vocabulary system change significantly, the new terms in the new period of social life in China is playing an increasingly important role; the new terms are naturally concerned by the language researchers. According to incomplete statistics, since the 1980s, papers on the Chinese New Words are nearly 300, the dictionaries about it is nearly 50. These fruits analyze and explore new terms from different angles, or timely collection and collation are within them, In short, the efforts of more than 20 years, the Chinese New Words has reached a new stage. However, in TCFL (Teaching Chinese as Foreign Language), the new terms failed to receive enough attention; the new term is at the initial stage now. TCFL on new terms is only four or five until now, the new terms studies are merely focusing on several fields neither deep enough nor comprehensive enough, scholars have to study in-depth.This paper is divided into six parts on the new terms of TCFL.Introduction is mainly on the status, significance and research ideas and methods to make readers have an overall understanding of the subject.Part 1 is outline of the new term including how to define new words, what characteristics is to give the readers a clearly definition to do pave the way for the following research. Part two focuses on the status and role of the new terms in TCFL. New Words in TCFL occupies an important position and so does Chinese culture and better understanding of society, the communication capacity and expand of the scope of communication. Because the new words in TCFL is so important, we should seriously explore and study the current status of teaching new words and look at what problems are and what should be solved to further improve the Teaching of new words.Part 3 is the outline from the aspects of provisions of the curriculum standards, the preparation of teaching materials, classroom teaching and the quality of teachers. Through the analysis of the status to solve the problems.Part 4 is the solutions to the problems in Chapter 3, which contain revising leading principles, updating teaching materials, creating optional and strengthening teacher construction and so on. In addition, specific teaching methods for new terms also were discussed aiming at providing some reference and help for teaching new terms.And the part of conclusion show some shortages in this paper .We wish our studies can help foreign students learning new words to some extent and offering some reference and assistance for teachers who teach TCFL. Hope that the new term of Chinese as a foreign language can be caused widespread concern in the teaching profession, further comprehensive study.
