A Study On Suxun, Sushi And Suzhe's Biographical Prose

Biographical prose, which is an important part in classical Chinese biographical literature, not only its species is numerous but also its style is unique since it started to be prosperous from the end of Donghan dynasty. Although most of this kind of biographical prose such as epitaph, inscription and epigraph seems reach only a literarily low level, they still have their own artistical characters, with their influence and importance. Of course, it will be a meaningful work to make a research on them.At the brilliant North Sung literary Period, the poems and prose of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe are the most representative, their research are also the most the in the past. With abundant deep scholarship and profound thought, their biographical prose exceeded other biographer in a sense as far as content and style. As a result, such a research is sure to be a very rewarding job. Regretfully, as far as the research production of the biographical prose is concerned, we can discover not only has no overall and systemic research, but also has no specialized academic literature from of old, except few comment on their biographical prose .It is obvious that research of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose isn't very comprehensive and systemic so far. Therefore, I attempt to makes a deep and systematic study of the characters Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose.The paper is based on the first hand materials, analysis and comparison of historical data, in order to find the characters of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose, and to reveal the similarity, difference and the uniqueness that divides them from other Chinese biographer. It also aims to summarize how Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe had inherited and developed the old Chinese biographical writing tradition, and their influence on the succeeding biographer.The paper is consists of four parts. In introduction, I would give the background of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose by summing up the present condition of research on biographical prose. I would also illustrate the significance of my thesis in this part. In the first chapter, I would analyze the ideology of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose. The second chapter illustrates conception, structure, expression, language and style of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose .The third chapter emphasizes on important status of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose and figure out the great historical influence of Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe's biographical prose. At last I will make an effort to discuss differences between Suxun, Sushi and Suzhe to some degree.
