Xie Zhaozhe is a renowned writer and scientist of Fujian in Ming Dynasty. He is also known for his personality and political integrity and achievement. He is diligent writing, leaving behing a lot of excellent works.His works in the style of literature, from which many reliable clues are extracted, are comprehensive in content, involving astronomy, geology, politics, economy, culture. One of his note works, "Wu Za Zu" stands out with its peculiar value among note works of other writers in his time.Xie Zhaozhe is a leading poet of Fujian in the late Ming Dynasty. His poems are refreshingly rhythmic and loftily elegant, most of which are composed in social communication. Thus they are perfect reflection of the society then. His criticism on poem and novel is known to be better than his poems and novels.Based on the main works of Xie Zhaozhe and relevant materials, this article analyzes the historical value, ideological value and social influence of his writings with the intension of deciding the historical significance of his writings.
