China and Japan have a narrow strip of water which is a friendly history of more than 2000 years. Few countries in the world diplomatic history can be compared with the time, broadness and influence of this relationship. It is not until Ming Dynasty that the relationship between China and Japan has reached its another peak in their diplomatic history. Printing method, as one of cultural friendly media between, kept its influence continuously until today.As a seeder of the civilization, the art of printing has profound influence all over the world, especially to Japan's dissemination. The printing of Ming Dynasty has greatly surpassed Song and Yuan Dynasty, not only in printing quantity and variety, printing system and distribution, but also had some development and innovation in printing technology and craft. Therefore, the Ming Dynasty is regarded as the peak of prints industry and the printing technology in our ancient country. At that time, Japan use carving printing primarily. It is until the end of 16 century Japan use the printing method. It has a profound influence on literature and drawing. With continuious communication of China and Japan, the printing method, as one of cultural dissemination media, will play an important role in canceling unharmonious factors produced by cultural difference and promoting cultural exchange between both countries.
