| The main purpose of this article is to make the analysis on nationality designs according to the dragon figure as the representative of traditional figures, and to discuss the influences which tradition dragon figure design culture put on themselves from figure design .Dragon figure can represent traditional figures because it has many characteristics of totem in the national culture status, and it also has the typical representative significance in the figure quantity and the quality.Firstly, the article examines carefully present situation of the traditional design-art research in the domain of contemporary design. It can be divided into three kinds approximately: The pure theory domain research can be combed out the relation of source and course of traditional figure, but the state of it was insufficient based on the design performance skill.The specialized informational domain mainly bases itself on the figure decoration esthetics,but not establish the reasonable bridge between the national design style of decoration and the modern design of vision transmission, although it retains and presents the outstanding material of the traditional culture. Discussion about national design style in professional design domain provides the massive skills for the design innovation of national tradition figure.Reference from design of dragon figure still needs to review its historical evolution based on the foundation above. Article gives a brief account of culture and the design esthetics characteristics in different historical period about the shape and the significance, and by so induces three national characteristics of dragon figure design: The method of taking figure by observation and depicting outline according to contents reflects directly the essence of physical image and the objective inevitability under the surface, and makes the traditional figure have the modern feeling. Moving melody is the outside appearance of consciousness and the life which dragon culture pursues. The round form manifests natural idea, it also means about such good thing as the propitious, the complete.From the analysis and summary to the dragon figure, it can be got that confusion by the traditional figure multi-meanings subject and narrow feeling from the identical construction form. Thus I request myself must find the reasonable visual expression from limited figures and unlimited subjects during designing dragon figure. In this article, I take my graduation works "Dragon Culture Design Series" as an example to make the discussion about the design subject and the change of figures: to refine subject must abide by extensively collecting and strictly choosing and must pay attention to the authenticity of subject concept, which is a premise by which the designer and the information receivers can exchange. In the meantime, it addresses design of dragon figure from the narrow to the wide, and introduces how I use the design of dragon figure for reference to reader from the selection, the simplification, combination of elements.Finally, the article narrates briefly the close relationship between the harmoniously containing spirit of dragon and the humanities spirit of modern design. |
