Modernity Modern SiChuan Writers Pursue

Modernity is a words which has western theoretical color and has abundant content and instability, is always carried on by various theoreticians of west to explain or criticize, forms relatively perfect theories system. At the end of 80's of 20 century, modernity along with post- modernity theories spreads in China, modernity becomes a new angle of view to literature phenomenon,writer and work of Chinese modern and contemporary literature, carried on new research and the esthetic sense on them. Modernity becomes a kind of character of 20 century Chinese literature, so writers purse modernity consciously or unconsciously in their creation in each period.Resided in the southwest of China, modern Sichuan writers are not only deeply subjected to Ba shu traditional culture , but also are enlightened by Wu Si New Culture Movement. Theirs respective and special life experience and reaction to big tide of society, which make their creations not only embody intensive time spirit and pursue modernity explicitly, but also have strong Ba Shu regional color, mainly incarnate their creations of GuoMoruo,BaJin,Li Jieren and Ai Wu etc, form diversity of their modernity pursuit, and enrich modernity pursuit of 20 century Chinese literature.Through retrospecting the theory of modernity, combating 20 century Chinese literature with modernity explicitly and analyzing concretely modernity of modern Sichuan writers pursue, we can see that modernity has some limitations in itself: it is difficult of modernity to confine, modernity replaces with the diverse characters of Chinese modern literature, researches of modernity sometimes neglect Chinese modern literature of concrete occurrence context and the regional character writers pursue, modernity invades nationality etc. These are all not scientific, which should cause to deep introspection of modernity.
