From Tradition To Modernity

Wei Minglun is a famous Sichuan opera writer who has emerged in the new period.His works have not only had a significant influence on the history of Sichuan opera,but also on the history of contemporary operas.For his research,it has always been a hot spot in the opera field.Faced with the loss of audiences in the Sichuan Opera,Wei Minglun,relying on his own hard work and talents,has inherited traditional Sichuan Opera literature and opened up an intermediary area for Sichuan Opera towards from traditional spirit to modernization.I believe that Wei Minglun's contribution to Sichuan opera is not only reflected in the innovation of Sichuan opera,but also reflected that he inherited the essence of Sichuan Opera's traditional art while continuing to dig deeper into the thematic implications and ideological core of the drama,truly realizing the traditional and modern and national character of Sichuan Opera.The organic combination of modernity can effectively expand the ways and boundaries of Sichuan Opera from traditional to modern.It can be said that Wei Minglun himself has not only raised a banner for revitalizing the art of Sichuan opera,but also provided reference and enlightenment for the progress of Chinese traditional opera to modern drama.Since the new period,most of Wei Minglun's dramatic studies focused on the study of theatrical texts and artistic innovations,lacking rational considerations and philosophical implications,thus leaving a large research space and research value for this thesis.The substance of this paper has thus come into being.The paper is divided into five chapters.The first chapter analyzes Wei Minglun's drama creation.The second chapter briefly summarizes the typical characteristics of Wei Minglun's drama,and concludes that the greatest feature of his drama lies in the inheritance and innovation of tradition.The third chapter focuses on Wei Minglun's inheritance of traditional Sichuan opera.He is a master of Sichuan opera.The fourth chapter discusses Wei Minglun's innovation of modernization based on inheritance,mainly showing the modern features of his drama.The fifth chapter emphasizes Wei Minglun's status of drama.Taking the current situation of the development of contemporary opera as the object,this paper proves that Wei Minglun's drama points out a way forward for the development of traditional opera.
