Literary Critical Views In "a Gathering Of Famous People"

Among the many works that show Navoi's literary talent, the priceless jewel—"A Gathering Of Famous People"—shines in the arena of literary research as anexpression of his literary critical views.In his work, "A Gathering Of Famous People", Navoi has given an overview of thewhole world of poetry in that age and, in a concrete way, has discussed the life andworks of 458 poets and has truly judged the strong points and weaknesses of theirwriting, presenting evidence from their poems to prove his point of view.In this article, by the use of text study and comparative research, I have discussedNavoi's literary critical views in "A Gathering Of Famous People" and expounded hisevaluation of these poets and their poetry.In this dissertation, firstly I have discussed the level of Uyghur literary criticism bothbefore and in the time of Nawoi and, secondly, I have considered his role andachievement in raising the level of Uyghur literary criticism to a position of excellence.
