Study On The Variant-Forms Of Chinese Characters Written On The Bamboo Slips Of Han Dynasty Unearthed In Zhangjiashan

The bamboo slips of Hart dynasty in Zhangjiashan were unearthed in Jiangling County of Hubei Province in the end of 1983.There are 1236 slips remained,not including the worn pieces.The content consists of law,traditional Chinese medical science,mathematics,military science,a calendar table and a detailed list of the things buried together with the dead,etc.All these are named with the abbreviated form The bamboo slips of Han dynasty in Zhangjiashan[Tomb of No.247].Being unearthed documents,they had been keeping buried under the ground deeply for long after being written,and had not been altered at will by later generations,thus there preserved a large number of special characters,furthermore many are not found in the handed-down documents.Hence compared with the handed-down documents,they have unparalleled true information,and could reflect more exactly the character writing situation at that time.So,studying on their character writing state will be valuable,this will supply to each other with the studying on the handed-down documents,and each shines more brilliantly.Variant-forms of Chinese characters and interchange-forms of Chinese characters are the two important and main parts of the special characters in the bamboo slips of Han dynasty unearthed in Zhangjiashan.This paper will study the part of the variant-forms,definiting the criterion,dividing their kinds,explaining each variant-form,analyzing the source and the way by which the variant-forms generated, summing up the types of the non-standard forms.And then discuss briefly the relations between the variant-forms and the interchange-forms,the variant-forms and the ancient-and-later forms,the variant-forms and the error-forms,while using the examples in the bamboo slips of Han dynasty unearthed in Zhangjiashan.This paper consists of five chapters: Chapterâ… ,Introduction,briefly introduces the material to be studied,the value of the study,and the methods to be used in the study.Chapterâ…¡,Brief Discuss About the Variant Forms of Chinese Characters,mainly discusses the definition of the variant-forms of Chinese characters,the reason why they generated,and their sorts,etc.Chapterâ…¢,The Gather Explaining of the Variant-Forms of Chinese Characters in the bamboo slips of Han dynasty unearthed in Zhangjiashan(The former part),mainly according to dictionaries such as The Etymology of Ancient Chinese Character, combining with the context in which each variant appears in Zhangjiashan bamboo slips,makes a more detailed discuss and analysis with the 40 full-same variants and thel5 part-same ones,so to demonstrate the variant-form relations between each of the variants and its parallel form.Chapterâ…£,The Gather Explaining of the Variant Forms of Chinese Characters in the bamboo slips of Hart dynasty unearthed in Zhangjiashan(The later part),still according to dictionaries such as The Etymology of Ancient Chinese Character, combining with the context in which each variant appears in Zhangjiashan bamboo slips,makes a more detailed discuss and analysis with the 52 non-standard variants,so to demonstrate the variant-form relations between each of the variants and its parallel form.Then,summarizes their types.Chapterâ…¤,About The Variant-Forms of Chinese Characters and Other Topics Related to,briefly discusses the relations between the variant-forms and the interchange-forms,the variant-forms and the ancient-and-later forms,the variantforms and the error-forms,while with the examples appearing in Zhangjiashan bamboo slips,makes a discrimination and analysis with these several relations.
