A Comparative Study On Wuyinjiyun And Guangyun' Pronunciation System

Wuyinjiyun was an important and representative phonological book after Guangyun during the development of Qieyun system books. The old name of Wuyinjiyun that we call it Wuyin later in this paper was Gaibingwuinjiyun and had been completed in A.D. 1208. The editer of this book was a linguist who lived in Jin Dynasty and his name was Han Daozhao. Han Daozhao compiled Wuyin on the basis of Wuyinjiyun that was compiled by Jing Pu in 1240's. Wu Yin changed the 206 rhyme into 160 rhyme according to actual pronunciation and rearranged the Xiaoyun of Guangyun and Jiyun with the Thirty-six letters. This reformation made the phonological book reflect real pronunciation better to applications. It's a significant reformation on compiling pattern about Qieyun system books ,as well as an important transition from attaching importance to compile written language pronunciation system to take depicting and reporting actual pronunciation system. Guangyun was the most important sign that the phonological book of Qieyun system had developed to the peak, it had been inherited the pronunciation system of Qieyun all around. It is the key and bridge to understand the ancient pronunciation system for us. By now, we make use of it to trace back the ancient pronunciation system and deduce the morden pronunciation system to a great exetent. Owing to the affinity of Xiaoyun between Wuyin and Guangyun, we compare the Xiaoyun of the two books to understand the pronunciation system of Wuyin better and try hard to inspect its property. The thesis includes four major parts:The first part is generalization. In this part we have introduced the edition, author, compiling style ,the studying situation of Guangyun and Wuyin as well as the research method of this thesis. The second part is the main body of the thesis. We have compared the pronunciation system between Guangyin and Jiyun from three aspects, the initial, the vowel and the tone. we have set about comparing the vowel from two aspects,the big one is the research about the incorporation of rhyme which is the maximum change that Wuyin had made about the pronunciation structure of Qieyun. The small aspect is the study on the shifted Xiaoyun. As Wu Yin rearranging the Xiaoyun of Guangyuan, it presents itself some pronunciation characteristics. One important characteristic of Wuyin is to supplement Xiaoyun, the syllable has also increased at the same time. Therefore we have researched the increaced Xiao Yun in this part besides the reseachof the initial, the vowel and the tone.In the third part we have tried to reconstruct the initial and vowel system of Wu Yin.The fourth Part is the conclusion. Wu Yin was the inheritance and development of QieYun. And was impact by actual pronunciation in the course of its compiling,but didn't break away from the bound of the old system of rhyme. Wuyin didn't reflect a real pronunciation system, but one part came from actual pronunciation and the anther part came from the old system of rhyme diagram. Although the reformation that merged some rhymes according to actual pronunciation was not thorough, Wuyin had made a large stride forward to reflecting reality. We may discover the actual pronunciation revealing if we observe the Xiaoyun of Wu Yin carefully. Wu Yin is very precious in the pronunciation history.
