Nowadays, more and more Chinese grammarians are paying their attention to the study on probing into the facts of Chinese language. On this situation, one complicated Chinese V-O structure like"åƒ(eat)+é£Ÿå ‚(restaurant)", whose object is not the typical recipient object but various objects such as locative object, instrumental object, resultant object , and so on, without any marking, is attracting the interests of them. There are mainly two theories about the complicated V-O structure in the current studies. One is"dislocation", and the other is"metonymy". Both of these two theories give good explanations to the complicated V-O structure, but also some problems left. Therefore, based on the previous studies, we put forward a new theory–"imitation", trying to provide a better explanation to the complicated V-O structure. The paper mainly includes four parts:The first part is an introduction to the complication of Chinese V-O structure. Then, we mention our own research object of this paper-a complicated V-O structure like"åƒ(eat)+é£Ÿå ‚(restaurant)", whose object is not the typical recipient object but various objects such as locative object, instrumental object, resultant object , and so on, without any marking. The second part gives a concept to the complicated Chinese V-O structure, concerns the previous studies of the object and reviews the current mainly two theories-"dislocation"and"metonymy".In the third part, we put forward the concept of"imitation"-the core concept of this paper, and then give a detailed analysis of our own theory. In the fourth part, we apply our own theory to the analysis of the complicated V-O structure. At last, we give our opinions about some new phrases imitated by the foreign students.
