Emotion regulation is a hot issue of Psychological Studies. There are many disputes and problems need besolve: There are divarication in the relationship of emotion regulation and emotion, the fit was questioned in the emotion regulation theories and the evaluation criteria of it, and it is difficult to interpreting the intensity of the emotional process in emotion regulaion theroies. In this study, Constructed the initial emotion regulation structure model, evaluated features of young emotion regulation, and discussed relations of emotion regulation and social adaptation.This study selected 580 and 812 young people as a sample in Chengdu randomly to analyse and validate the construction of emotion regulation model. The results showed that: (1)Adolescent emotion regulation contains four dimensions:emotional self-awareness, emotional regulation self-efficacy, emotional regualtion strategies and emotional self-reflection, which is in line with the hypothesis; (2) Emotion regulation questionnaire was reliability and validity.This study measured 761 middle school students from junior one to senior three, using the emotion regulation questionnaire and social adaptation questionnaire. The results showed that young emotion regulation have the following features: (1) Emo tion regulation is upward trend generally,and there is also the larger fluctuation appears twice a "bottom" from junior one to junior two and from senior one to senior two;(2) Emotional regulation self-efficacy, emotional regualtion strategies and emotional self-reflection have significant grade difference; (3) On emotion regulaion ability in the gender, the girls was higher than boys in junior one ,the boys was higher than girls fron junior two to senior two, and the girls was higher than boys from senior two to senior three.The study also found in the emotion regulation's relationship with social adaptation:emotion regulation significantly correlated with social adaptation, and emotion regulation could predict significantly social adaptation.
