Tan Xian was an erudite poet in the Qing dynasty, and he was also a critic of poetry.Tan Xian wrote a great number of books during his lifetime, and his poetry thought was represented in his Qie Zhong Ci and Diary of Futang."Qie Zhong Ci"is one of the important selected poetry collections in the history of Qing poetry, and it was widely spread in late Qing. With tactful language, earnest feeling, substantive and close to reality description, breadth of mind and character revealing works of tenderness and gentleness,"Qie Zhong Ci"has integrated the contents of anchoring one's feelings (Changzhou School) with the elegant (Zhe School) form. This new form has a great influence on the poetry development in late Qing. The attention of researchers is always arrested by Tan's theory of Song poetry, but little due attention and analysis is paid to"Qie Zhong Ci". In terms of selected works, there is little achievement. With the selecting principle of"anchoring one's feeling with analogy, and making tenderness and gentleness"proposed by Tan Xian in"Qie Zhong Ci"as a main thread, and with the methods of textual criticism and textual analysis, this paper has systematically explored how Tan Xian inherited and developed the theories of Changzhou poetry, his criticism of the large-scale poem selection in the Qing dynasty, his perspectives of the main poem trends in Qing, and the principles of selecting works in"Qie Zhong Ci", when Tan Xian was compiling"Qie Zhong Ci". Moreover, the paper analyzes how"Qie Zhong Ci"indicates the comprehensive research of Tan's poem theory, systematically states the influences of Tan's perspective on the poetry selection of the book, as well as quotes evidence from the book to testify and maintain the poem perspective of Tan Xian.
