| As a renowned thinker, political commentator and writer of the early Han Dynasty, Jia Yi has left long-lasting influence on the posterity with his essays and Fu. Especially, His prose creation collection Xin Shu, is a remarkable representative of literary style of the early Han Dynasty, being praised as "great literary creation of the western Han Dynasty". The present version of Xin Shu has 58 articles written by Jia Yi (two of them missing), the contents are very rich. Many of the articles are political commentary articles on such important issues as state governing and people's lives. They are also closely connected with social reality of that historic period. With its profound thoughts and sharp writing styles, it represents the highest possible level that an early Han Dynasty statesman could achieve. This thesis tries to make a multi-directional and all-dimensional research on Jia Yi and his Xin Shu through the following three parts:First, Jia Yi and the overview of his Xin shu .This part first elaborates the political situation during Qin and Han Dynasties, and its significant influence on the thoughts of writers; then makes a certain degree of reorganization of Jia Yi's biography and posterity's criticism about him; finally inspects and reorganizes the popularity and edition system of Xin Shu.Second, Xin Shu's main thoughts. This part first elaborates the origins of thoughts in Xin Shu; then conducts a thorough research of Xin Shu main thoughts, including political thoughts, education thoughts, as well as economic thoughts.Third, testifying and collating research of Xin Shu. This part first testifies the authenticity of Xin Shu; then testifies its contents; and finally discusses respective success and failure of the two main editions. |
