Oedipal originates from the myth King Oedipus by Sophocles and is adopted by Freud. King Oedipus kills his father by accident and then marries his own mother. Freud regards this story as a reflection of various psychological problems and believes Oedipal complex is the essential theory of psychological analysis, holds the core of neurosogenesis and constitutes the base of psychological analysis. Freud also considers Oedipal a distinctive feature of unconsciousness. Oedipal complex enters into fake reality from Childhood fantasy by means of this Greek myth. Psychological analysis exposes this pressed complex and endows it with importance in the psychological world of human beings.D.H.Lawrence is one of the most important writers in the 20th century. He experiences a lot and is the most famous, creative and controversial novelist. From the perspective of psychological analysis, based on his autobiographical works Sons and Lovers and his life, this thesis is to analyze Lawrence's Oedipal complex and to explore his psychological world by means of document classification, comparison and case study.First, this thesis expounds the presentation of Freud on Oedipal so that we can . get a better understanding of this complex.Then, based on the his Sons and Lovers, his autobiography and the reminiscences of his intimates, this thesis explores Lawrence's family background, his relationship with his mother, father, brother, Jessie .
