Sigmund Freud is a famous Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis school.Influenced by the self image, the story of Oedipus and the exploration of totem culture,Freud put forward the Oedipus complex, that is,Oedipus complex. The main content of the complex is that in the period of choosing the object of sexual development, children first choose their parents. The boy chooses his mother as the object of choice, which is derived from his own "sexual instinct".In this case, the boy has a special tenderness to his mother, regards the mother as his own property, and regards the father as the enemy to win this property, and wants to take it The position of a surrogate father in a parent relationship. In the Oedipus complex, the essence of art is aesthetic creativity.Patricide and Oedipus complex is the eternal theme of aesthetic expression, and human "daydream" has become the way of aesthetic creation, and "Oedipus complex" generally exists in human "unconsciousness".Therefore,it deeply affects many creators, and many excellent works, such as Oedipus king,Hamlett,Karamazov brothers, sons and lovers, have Oedipus complex. However, there are some limitations in this complex, which overemphasizes the "Id",the role of "sexuality" in literary creation and criticism, and the interpretation of tragic works is rather extreme. On the basis of the above, this paper makes an in-depth analysis of Freud's Oedipus complex, expounds its aesthetic charm, and explains its limitations, hoping to provide a reference for Chinese and Western literary creation. This paper is divided into five parts.Firstly,it briefly introduces the research background, significance, methods and so on.Secondly,it analyzes the causes and manifestations of Freud's "Oedipus complex",and briefly introduces the theories involved in this paper, namely, the theory of unconsciousness, the theory of dream interpretation, the theory of "force must be more" sexual instinct, and the theory of personality structure. Then,it discusses the aesthetic value of Freud's Oedipus complex. Then from the perspective of Oedipus complex in art works, especially its interpretation of three classic works of Oedipus king,Hamlet and Karamazov brothers and its influence on modern creators are analyzed. Finally,it discusses some limitations of Freud's Oedipus complex.I hope that this study can provide some reference for the later theoretical and practical research.
