| College English is considered as one of the basic subjects in Chinese universities. It is the most important task to train the students with lifetime learning ability and enable them to adapt to the development 21st century. In information age, College English teaching is turning its attention from learning English language to whole personal education. It also emphasizes the nurturing of students' self-study ability and lifetime learning ability. New Curriculum Standard of College English for English Teaching requires teachers to change the traditional teaching methods, optimize the learning method of students, enhance the nurturing of study strategies and in order to improve their "self-regulated learning" ability. The aim of this thesis is nurturing the self-regulated learning ability of learning English and the author adopted methods of studying literature, observation, questionnaire investigation, etc. The author have proposed and analyzed study strategies, teaching strategies and assessment studying of university student's independent study under IT environment, and has put forward the self-regulated learning outside classroom under IT environment mode on this basis. Through deep exploration on two aspects of theory and practice, this thesis tries to enrich and developed the research of university student's independent study ability under the IT environment. The whole thesis is divided into five parts: First part, Introduction, has explained the research background, current situation purpose, value and methods in an all-round way, the definition of the relevant concepts.The second part, illustrates the theoretical evidence of advocating students to study independently. This part introduces the conception of independent study, character, influential factors of independent study and theories in relation to it. It is based on humanistic learning theories, constructive views of education, metacognitive theory and the theory of the zone of proximal development, which shows that the nurturing of autonomous learning ability is scientific and feasible.The third part, studies and analyzes the present situation of college English teaching and learning. Know the present situation of independent study of learning English under IT environment and find out the reason.The fourth part, on the basis of the meaning of teaching strategies under the IT environment and the author have analyzed the teaching strategies to develop student's independent learning ability. And then, the author has proposed and explained learning strategies of independent study under the IT environment. Then on the basis of the development trend of assessment the author introduces some new methods to evaluate independent study under the IT environment. Finally, in the part of the brief summary, according to study strategies and teaching strategies of independent study, the author puts forward the mode of independent study under the IT environment.The fifth part summarizes the research results of this thesis. |
