The first part of this thesis explores into a few typical psychological processes repeatedly appearing in Su Tong's novels, and thoroughly analyzes the characters'psychology and the author's psychology in writing; and detailed psychological analysis is made working with the cases of the escaping, disabled, failed and feeble persons (including female characters). The second part discusses the cultural psychology via the repeatedly depicted ruined persons'experience of agonies and internal conflicts, and analyzes some transcendental psychological schemas and the derived consciousness of existence and mentality of detachment. In the analysis, the characters'individual psychology and cultural psychology are respectively explored based on the individualism and culturalism for the purpose of revealing the innermost significance of the abnormal living scenes in Su Tong's novels. Su Tong has depicted various trauma experiences and trauma-oriented individualities---anxiety, crankiness, melancholy, solitude, fantasy, abnormal behaviors, seamy moods and the resulted psychological unbalance, mental disorder, autism, depression, substitution effect, pseudo identification, reversal, etc.; and at the same time embodied the sense of living and the sense of salvation which are under the influence of Chinese traditional culture spirit. The unhealthy psychologies and unhealthy personalities are mainly the products of the social life and individual circumstances under the influence of an unhealthy culture. Su Tong pays attention to and duly explores into such abnormal persons and matters, and that is because these living scenes are conformed with his internal trauma experiences; and with the deepening and aestheticizing of such experience, he approaches the cultural psychology level to explore the life philosophy and to perceive the agony in an aesthetic way. After his creation of a series of ever-escaping or ever-pursuing persons'mentalities, Su Tong's novels develop the tragic internal conflicts into the process of approaching the noumenon of existence exceeding the over-absorption of mind with impersonalism. The significance of this thesis lies in that it clings to the fictions'structural element of internal conflict instead of the traditional way of"finding out the morals of the works through analyzing the author's life story", traces the psychological conformity between the fictional characters and the author as well as the cultural origin, and takes a relatively scientific and specific method in commenting on the writings by text-explanations.
