The Performance Of The Theme Of Farmers In The Modern China's Oil Paintings

The theme of farmers represents different social meanings and hints different indications due to the difference of times. In order to eulogize the nation's spirit and to emphasize the times' spirit, the display of typical and real image of farmers is becoming a new tendency, which appeared more significant after the 1990's.The artists continued to focus on the tradition and spirit and meanwhile they paid close attention to the farmer's mentality and real life. In spite of the popularity of metropolitan culture and modern arts, the theme of farmers is worth deep research aesthetically. This dissertation shows the performance and significance of the theme of farmers in China's Oil painting art under the condition of art globalization, greater influence of metropolitan culture and modern art context. The times when the theme of farmers relies on and the social roots are introduced and the performance of the artists and the language of the Oil paintings will be analyzed. Based on the discussion above and the case study of the contemporary artists, the current development of the theme of farmers will be analyzed systematically.
