| As a universal social and culture phenomenon, the folk custom and literature often combines and accompanies each other: the folk custom is not only an intermediary and the source for literature but also fertile soil for writers to create literature; Moreover, changes in the development of literature is often closely related to which of folk custom.The Vernacular Novels in Song Dynasty was come from the "townspeople", which made real detailed description of Song Dynasty ordinary social life. The novel recorded a lot of sceneries, social customs and history at that time, and provided us with a piece of picture of ordinary social folk custom in which the "townspeople" was mainly in Song Dynasty.This paper attempts to analyze ordinary folk custom in the vernacular novels of song dynasty by folklore theory systematically. The paper is as the text to be the data of ordinary folk custom, stresses emphases as the basic principle, and chooses the best representative ordinary folk items for analyzing and citing appropriate documentation or other material as a part of evidence. And at the same time it also analyzes the deep-seated psychological connotations of social and cultural by using folk theories and methods for reference.
