Based on respecting the truth of such works, the thesis researches the current-event novels occurred in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties from background, version and history and so on.The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter introduces the background of the current-event novels from birth to prosperity, and defines the research scope, then makes a simple summary. Taking the series of LiZicheng's novels as center, the second chapter discusses the authors, versions and writing progress of such works. In order to discuss the historical properties of the current-event novels, this thesis compares such works with historical records. The third chapter discusses the research value and influences, and then illustrates the impacts on the modern journalism.As a production of the specific historical period, the current-event novels have their existence and development of literary value and historical value. On one hand, such works are easy to conserve and publish, on another hand, with loose structure and mixing with the real recorder, their literary value is significantly reduced.
