Discussion On Traditional Cultural Characteristics Of Hami Uygurs

Hami is a main city situated at the ancient Silk Road, a road which many kingdoms in the western region must take to trade and transport culture with inland in our country, and a place where the Asian culture and the Western culture repeatedly exchanged and accumulated, so the culture here is rich and thick. To conduct the research systematically on Hami Uygur traditional culture, is advantageous for us to thoroughly realize how rich and valuable the culture Hami Uygurs create, is advantageous for us to inherit and study the outstanding ingredients of their traditional culture,is advantageous for us to protect nonphysical cultural heritage in Hami, is advantageous for us to develop the discipline development of Uygur.Because of differently geographical position, different religious influence, different historical culture, the same ethnic group can present differently cultural characteristics in different areas. This article is trying to discuss traditional cultural characteristics of Hami Uygurs, which means Uygur culture retains much more, Arabic and Persian culture influence smaller, the Chinese cultural influence is much more profound than other areas in Xinjiang. Using the historical literature collection and the comparison methods, on the background of thoroughly understanding general features of Uygur culture, the paper tries to elaborate cultural characteristics in Hami area. With the method of the cultural, sociological, historical study, the author systematically and comprehensively analyzes the reasons that form Hami Uygur traditional culture characteristics. From the angle of ethnology, sociology and culture study, the author discusses the relation between Hami Uygur traditional culture and modernization, traditional culture and cultural construction, traditional culture and safe and united situation in Xinjiang.
