| Based on the representative version of Zheng Qiao's《TongZhi.YueLue》, thisthesis makes a specified analysis on its compilation, historical resources, research onancient music and literature. Around the above mentioned issues, through themethodologies of textual criticism, practical survey, analysis and comparison, thethesis makes a theoretical exploration on the compilation and its author, the origin ofthe version, textual characteristics as well as the rescores of the historical materialsof《TongZhi.YueLue》. Afterwards, the thesis also makes a systematic classificationof the tune of Music Bureau of the Han Dynasty from the angle of the thoughtrelated to《YueLueYi》, and explores Zheng Qiao's thought on the classification.Besides from his viewpoint on music extracted are his thought on music history, i.e.the application of universalization and his unique opinion, i.e. "ShengGuiShuo"(Poetry is the base of music, while music is the actual practice of poetry.)and "JiFeng,JiYaShuo".
