Tribulation And Struggle

Yan Lianke was born in the family of a farmer in Hannan province. Being a writer for thirty years, he pays more attention to the hard life of the country. He is famous for description of lower class lives and the struggle for hard in his novels. His unique writing style is appreciated by readers and critics.On the basis of the Yan Lianke's life experience and his novels, this thesis mainly analyzes his change of writing style, especially, from Realism to Imagism. Considering of Yan Lianke's the essays and notes of speaking, this thesis coordinates writer's novels with the means of existentialism, poetics, philosophy and tragedy psychology and get the conclusion of his change of tribulation consciousness.This thesis can be divided into three parts:In the first part, the author introduces Yan Lianke's writing experience and divides it into different periods according to the need of analysis. At the same time, the author does a literature review on Yan Lianke and illustrates the way of research and the key points in this thesis.The main body includes four parts. The former three parts analyses Yan Lianke's creation, change and modulation of his writing style. In the research, the author finds that Yan Linke expresses understanding and self-identity for farmers'bitterness, numbness, tolerance and helpless by describing the farmers'hard lives in his early writings.In his change period, Yan Lianke depicts more about people's struggle when they meet the hard lives. There is a change in his writing; he expresses more struggle but not tolerance. By Imagism, he airs his tragedies.During his period of modulation, Yan Lianke comes back to"realism"again and combines it with Imagism. He discloses the reasons of hard lives by describing the process of farmers'becoming richness and expresses his social criticism.The last chapter analyzes Yan Lianke's attitude for hard lives to illustrate his contradiction on tribulation consciousness.In the summary, the author give a conclusion about Yan Lianke's tragedy consciousness and points out his defeats in struggle description.
