The Study Of Marimba's Performing Skills And Teaching

Marimba is one of popular persuasion musical instruments with rhythm in the world. It has a long history of almost one hundred years. Though it has a short history in China when it was introduced into China , it has a comparatively quick development due to its wide sound range , beautiful tone ,and excellent performance. However, Marimba is basically regarded as an exotic musical instrument. Thus it is in the beginning state in China both theoretically and educationally in reality. Compared with that in Japan, Marimba in China is slower in acceptance . Therefore, this article begins with the introduction of the theoretical knowledge of Marimba , collects and integrates the literary data, and gives a general description of the origin, development, and construction of Marimba. Furthermore, based on many years' experience, a general and conclusive explanation is presented concerning the skills and performance of Marimba with the combination of theory and practice, which is thought to serve as a useful help to the teaching of Marimba.
