Reading is one of the important means to acquire knowledge and transmit information in modern human society. The shortcomings of individual reading ability will have a major impact on the socialization and the learning process. Alexia are caused brain damage due to loss of normal reader of the written language abilities lost or damaged, with read or without read obstacles. Alexia of cognitive neuropsychology mechanisms is the basis for their rehabilitation. Furthermore, many psychological studies show that the structure of characters affect language reading. This study used cognitive neuropsychology to research the Chinese patients with alexia. Starting from the unique nature of Chinese characters, observing typical cases very systematical and designing experiments to explore the neural mechanism of Chinese word processing system. And to research the relationship between language function and cognitive dysfunction in Alexia. Construct the final cognitive neuropsychological rehabilitation of the Chinese alexia. The results showed:(1) The Location brain damage of patient KDH is parietal cortex and occipital cortex, affect the ties of morpheme-semantic, phoneme-semantic, morpheme -phoneme. The damage route is: from orthographic input lexicon to semantic system; from phonologic input lexicon to semantic system;from semantic system to phonologic output lexicon and orthographic output lexicon. The Location brain damage of patient HDW is frontal cortex and parietal cortex, affect the ties of morpheme-semantic, morpheme-phoneme. The damage route is: from orthographic input lexicon to semantic system; from orthographic input lexicon to phonologic output lexicon in irregularitical phonogram;from semantic system to phonologic output lexicon(minor) and orthographic output lexicon.(2) There are regularity effect in Chinese alexia ,especially the 90% of phonogram in Chinese character. Note that there may be some form of direct route from orthography to phonology in cognitive processing. It similar to GPC rule in alphabetic languages. However, in light of the different types of word, such as irregular word, it might have occurred compete in lexical route and nonlexical route with each other. (3) There are category-specific grammatical deficit in Chinese alexia. Patients in this paper demonstrate the advantages of the Noun, that is the verb specific deficit.(4) In this paper, two cases of patients have different levels, different types of cognitive dysfunction, such as Mental rotation,Attention,Memory,Reasoning Ability, etc. .But how relationship in Language and Cognitive Function is required further study.
