Depression is a common psychological disfunction, generally appearing as a long-lasting low emotional state with anxiety, hesitation, decline of memory, thinking hardness, loneliness, pessimism, despair, self-reproach and ailment, etc. Among college students, depression presently has a high rate of occurrence and an increasingly significant influence on college students' study and life. Depression problem ought to be paid much attention to by school at present. Examining how college students with depression cope with and regulate pressure is significant for preserving students' healthy psychology and improving their psychological quality.Self-esteem is the evaluation of individual self and the attitude towards self. In recent years, scholars both at home and broad have carried out researches on the concept, theory and construct of self-esteem construct from every aspect, among which two components of self-esteem has been the hotspot. Though many achievements have been made, there are still some inadequacies: firstly, researches on self-esteem can not avoid social expectation effect brought by self- narrative questionnaire survey; secondly, researches on the relationship between construct of self-esteem and depression are rarely, and researches on college students with depression are even lacked; thirdly, researches on the long-term regulating function of construct of self-esteem in daily events and individual psychological health are few, and researches on dynamic function of self-esteem in daily life regulating near-term depressed emotion and present pressure.Aimed at the inadequacy of the present researches on self -esteem ,this research, combines methods of explicit self-esteem questionnaire survey and IAT as well as literature analysis, questionnaire, CFA, regression analysis, path analysis, SEM, etc. From the characteristic of structural separation of self-esteem, this research probes into the self-esteem construct of college students with depression and its dynamic function of regulating depressed emotion and pressure, and analyses college students' self-esteem construct and its characteristics, . Based on this, this research makes a comparison between the self-esteem of college students with depression and that of normal students and probes into the function of self-esteem in regulating near-term pressure and long-term pressure. It is significance for understanding the function of self-esteem construct of college students with depression in regulating pressure.The whole research has three parts: the first part has examined the model of college students' two components of self-esteem; the second part has made a comparison between the self-esteem construct of college students with depression and normal college students; the third part has investigated the function of self-esteem construct of college students with depression in regulating pressure.Synthesizing the result of the research, the following conclusions have been reached:1. Self-esteem of the college students including those with depression has two aspects of implicit self-esteem and explicit self-esteem. These two aspects have clear differences, independent from as well as influencing each other.2. The self-esteem construct of college students with depression is different from that of normal college students. The explicit self-esteem level of college students with depression is lower than the implicit self-esteem level. The explicit self-esteem level of normal students is higher than the implicit self-esteem level. The explicit self-esteem level of normal college students is clearly higher than that of the students with depression. The implicit levels of the two have no clear difference.3. As far as long-term pressure is concerned, the self-esteem construct of college students with depression and normal students both exhibits.no regulating function on it.As for near-term pressure, normal college students' self-esteem construct (high explicit/implicit self-esteem; high explicit/low implicit self-esteem) exhibits regulating function. The self-esteem construct (low explicit/high implicit self-esteem; low explicit/implicit self-esteem) of college students with depression exhibits no regulating function of it.
